A little more about us. The word liminal is derived from the Latin word limens meaning threshold.
The liminal space, therefore, is a threshold or place of transition between one reality and another, like the doorway between two rooms where you might have stood when you were a child. The room behind you, maybe your bedroom, was comfortable and familiar, filled with treasures such as your favourite toys or books. The room in front of you, however, may have been different, more formal and perhaps a little intimidating.
